The GPS package is not our Strategic Tax Coaching (STC) program. It doesn’t include strategy blueprints, tax guides, implementation checklists, or written plans.
Think of GPS as your big-picture advisor.
It’s where you bring your questions, ideas, or changes—and walk away with clarity, direction, and insight. If you want a hands-on tax strategy package with worksheets, deliverables, and step-by-step instructions, we recommend our STC program instead.
And no, GPS and the STC program cannot be combined or stacked—they serve different purposes.
🧭 What We Can Cover in GPS (Strategic Guidance)
✔️ Business structure planning
✔️ Major life transitions
✔️ Large purchases/sales and their tax impact
✔️ Evaluating tax planning opportunities
✔️ Strategic “what-if” scenario thinking
✔️ Collaborative discussions with your CPA/attorney
🚫 What We Can’t Cover in GPS (Filing/Compliance)
❌ Instructions for tax forms (e.g., “put this on Line 17”)
❌ Step-by-step filing help or return amendments
❌ Deliverables, spreadsheets, or written reports
❌ Tax compliance questions (e.g., estimated payments, due dates)
❌ IRS representation or document preparation
The STC (Strategic Tax Coaching) program gives you a custom tax strategy with written deliverables, to-do lists, and detailed plans for your CPA to implement. It’s structured, written, and implementation-focused.
The GPS (Guidance for Proactive Strategy) program is for live advisory with Shauna. It gives you scheduled access for high-level conversations, brainstorming, and planning—but it does not include deliverables or structured strategy documents.

The STC program is a specific project-based, deliverable-driven engagement. GPS gives you flexible, face-to-face time with Shauna throughout the year, for anything that comes up between strategy updates.
You might use GPS to:
And as a bonus: STC clients who join GPS can use one GPS meeting per year to review or “sanity-check” their STC path with Shauna.
Yes, you are welcome to invite your CPA or other professional advisors (such as an attorney or financial planner) to join your GPS sessions. However, to protect our intellectual property and proprietary strategy methods, any third-party attendees will be required to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) prior to the meeting.
If you’re enrolled in our GPS program, you are welcome to bring your prepared tax return to a scheduled GPS session. We can review it together at a high level, offer strategic feedback, and help you understand key elements. However, GPS is not a detailed audit or line-by-line review and is not designed to detect errors, omissions, or discrepancies in your return.
Please note, the GPS program or STC program:
To get the most value from your meeting, we recommend the following best practices:
These sessions are designed to give you high-level insight—but they’re most effective when you come ready to use the time well. If you’re ever unsure about what to bring, just ask our team in Slack
—we’re happy to help you prep!
You may submit prior-year tax returns, spreadsheets, financials, or deal summaries. Please include specific questions or context to help us prepare. All materials must be submitted at least 3 business days prior to your meeting.
We encourage clients to plan proactively, not reactively. The earlier you schedule, the more strategic and calm your planning can be—especially before life changes, large financial moves, or major tax deadlines.
💡 Meetings are subject to availability, and blackout periods apply. If you know you’ll need time around March 15, April 15, September 15, or October 15, please book well in advance.
Yes. You may pre-schedule your meetings for the entire year if preferred. We recommend early booking, especially near tax deadlines or blackout periods.
We do record GPS meetings, but the recordings are for internal use only and are not shared with clients under any circumstances. Why? Because these recordings may contain confidential discussions, proprietary strategy methods, or references to other internal planning systems. Releasing them could compromise client privacy, strategic integrity, or legal protections.
📌 For your benefit:
We encourage all clients to take notes during sessions, and you’re welcome to post a summary in Slack for confirmation or clarification after the meeting.
🔒 Recordings are part of our internal documentation process and are used solely to protect service quality—not as a deliverable or take-home resource.
No. Your selected package is locked for the 12-month term. However, you can buy additional packages or upgrade your package if you need more help at anytime! 🙂
You’re welcome to use your existing meetings to talk through any life or business changes. If you feel you’ll need more guidance, you may purchase an additional GPS package (up to 3 total/year). You are also welcome to join our live zoom calls or attend an office hours session (based on availability)
No. The GPS program is prepaid, non-refundable, and designed to offer access—not to track usage. Unused meetings expire at the end of your 12-month term.
GPS is a conversation-based consulting program. It does not include deliverables, written summaries, reports, or implementation materials.
If you need a specific targeted written deliverable, we may propose a separate engagement at an additional fee.
No. GPS is non-transferable. Sessions are limited to the Client, their legal spouse, or legal owners of the entity.
We occasionally offer custom consulting for specific needs, subject to availability and capacity. If your situation requires more access or complexity than GPS allows, we’re happy to explore custom solutions.
Yes, Slack is available for quick questions, light clarifications, or scheduling support. However, in-depth discussions or significant new topics must be addressed during scheduled meetings.
We recommend scheduling at least 3–4 weeks in advance, especially near blackout dates or tax deadlines, as availability fills quickly.
If unforeseen circumstances prevent delivery of services, we will work with you to reschedule within a reasonable time frame.
No. We do not allow client-side recording due to the sensitive nature of the discussions. However, you are welcome to take notes, and you may request a summary of key discussion points via Slack (not guaranteed).
We do not schedule meetings during May 1–31 or December 15–January 23. In rare, urgent circumstances, a one-time exception may be considered at Shauna’s discretion.
We do not provide written recaps, documentation, or follow-up notes as part of GPS. You are encouraged to take your own notes during each session.
All meetings begin and end at their scheduled times. If you arrive late, your meeting will still end as originally scheduled so we can respect the time of all clients. We recommend logging into Zoom a few minutes early to ensure a smooth start.
If a technical issue on your end prevents a meeting from taking place, the time may be forfeited. If it’s due to a system-wide issue or a technical problem on our end, we’ll reschedule at no cost. We encourage you to test your connection with our team ahead of time and let us know ASAP if problems arise.
Meetings are designed as focused 90-minute sessions. If more time is needed, we’re happy to cover it in your next scheduled session or discuss adding another GPS package if you’ve reached your limit.
We do our best to make the most of your time, but meetings are most productive when materials are submitted at least 3 business days in advance. If prep work isn’t received in time, we may need to work from a limited context—which could reduce the value of your session. We are not able to extend or reschedule meetings due to lack of preparation.
GPS is a conversation-based consulting program, not a performance-guaranteed product. The value of your session depends on your goals, the context you provide, and the action you take afterward. While we strive to deliver meaningful insight, all decisions based on guidance received are ultimately your responsibility. We do not offer refunds, revisions, or re-dos.
We encourage clients to come prepared with an agenda, questions, and relevant documents to get the most from each session. We do not offer “makeup time” or credits if you feel a session was underused—however, we’re always happy to help you prepare better for future meetings.
You’re welcome to shift the focus of your meeting, but please know that significant last-minute topic changes may reduce how deeply we can address them. Advance preparation helps us make the most of your time together.
GPS meetings are structured as 90-minute strategy sessions to allow for focused, uninterrupted planning. Meetings cannot be split, shortened, or rebooked as smaller sessions.
No. All meetings must be used during your active 12-month term. Any unused sessions expire at the end of your agreement and cannot be carried forward.
GPS is ideal for big-picture strategy, transitions, or planning decisions. Example topics include: launching or selling a business, life changes (divorce, inheritance), new income streams, entity structure decisions, or tax-impact scenarios.
GPS is designed to help you explore options, evaluate trade-offs, and understand your choices. While we offer guidance, it’s ultimately up to you and your CPA/financial team to determine how to act on the insights discussed.

We’re here to help you think through strategy—but the execution is yours and your CPA’s responsibility.

You are encouraged to take notes or post a Slack summary for confirmation or brief questions.
GPS is most valuable when it leads to action. We’ll help you think strategically, but it’s up to you to follow through. If your situation requires implementation, we recommend working with your CPA or exploring our STC program.
To have the most productive meeting, we recommend:
GPS works best when it’s proactive, not reactive. We encourage early scheduling and planning—especially before major deadlines. While we’ll do our best to support urgent needs, availability is limited near key filing dates and during blackout periods.
